Criminal Law

Cameron has a diverse range of practise experience in criminal law including violent and sexual crimes, drug trafficking and major dishonesty offences. Cameron also practices in Commonwealth criminal law with particular experience in international drug importation matters.

In recent times Cameron's practise has focused on serious sexual offences including sexual offences committed against children, large scale drug trafficking cases, violent armed robberies, greivous bodily harm and assault, and complex dishonesty crimes.

Cameron appears in all Tasmanian Criminal Courts and Magistrates Courts.

Cameron has professional experience in and undertakes the following types of criminal matters:

- Sexual Offences including rape, sexual assaults, and historical offences in institutional settings.

- Drug Trafficking including Commonwealth Drug Importation

- Assault, Grievous Bodily Harm, and Wounding

- Murder, and Manslaughter

- Property and Dishonesty Crimes including Arson, and Stealing

- White Collar Crimes including Corporate Crimes, including Corporations Act Offences and Fraud, Environmental and Regulatory Offences

- Criminal Court Appeals, and Lower Court Appeals.

- Coronial Inquests

- Family violence offences including persistent family violence, and applications to revoke or vary family violence orders. Cameron also has specialist experience in addressing coercive control under Tasmania's existing Family Violence laws.

- Cameron is also a leading barrister in drink driving and drug driving cases including applications for restricted drivers licences. Cameron has a high level of success in obtaining restricted drivers licences for client's in the Magistrates Court.


Family Law

Children's matters including recovery, relocation, cases involving 'No Time' orders, and cases with allegations of family and sexual violence.

Property matters including cases where family violence is a relevant factor (Kennon).

Interlocutory arguments for matters including Stays of proceedings, defaults, and summary dismissal.

Mediation, Conciliation Conferences, and alternative dispute resolution.
